Career Services offers presentations for students throughout the year both virtually and on-campus.
Previous topics have included:

- Handshake and Job Searching Skills
- Effective Resumes
- Drafting a Cover Letter
- Interview Preparation
- Encourage students to attend the annual Spring Career Fair in February, or better yet, attend as a class!
- Share this Career Fair Guide with students so they can feel more confident networking with local and state-wide employers
- Add an assignment or classroom activity to your course based on student attendance at the career fair. This document contains examples of activities/assignments you are welcome to utilize to encourage student participation in their career development. These activities also provide your students with the opportunity to view and utilize many of our new web-based career resources.

Handshake is the University of Alaska’s career management platform and job/internship board. On Handshake, students and alumni can discover new career paths, build a professional profile, find jobs and internships, and connect with great companies locally or across the country. Students log in with their UA username and password to access jobs and internships specifically tailored for college students and recent graduates!
Students who complete their Handshake profiles are 5 times more likely to be contacted by a recruiter on Handshake!

Career Coach
Career Coach is a tool for students to explore career and education opportunities in Alaska and to learn more about how their unique skills and interests align with different careers.
With Career Coach anyone with a UA login can:
- Take personalized assessments that match their interests to UA college majors
- Find workforce training and educational opportunities in Alaska
- Access current Alaska labor market and wage data using simple online tools
