Meet the Team

Stori is a passionate educator, scientist, and mentor who is dedicated to helping students thrive, both in school and in their future careers. She creates and leads career-focused programs that encourage students to explore their interests, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward their goals. Drawing inspiration from Batchelor and others (2021), Stori embraces the idea of a “braided river” instead of the traditional straight-line career pipeline. This powerful metaphor highlights the many different ways people can enter and move through the workforce, recognizing that everyone’s journey is unique. Outside of work, Stori enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening, fishing, foraging, and spending time with her husband and their ever-expanding menagerie.

Hailing from the Chicago suburbs, Elaine is a recent graduate of Wellesley College in political science and statistics. She has experience interning at a Senator’s office communicating complex immigration and healthcare issues to constituents and practicing empathy during every constituent call. At the Department of State and the US Embassy in Malaysia, she assisted in coordinating humanitarian aid during natural disasters and advocating for local human rights initiatives. Passionate and hopeful about public service, Elaine is excited to dive into supporting the University of Alaska’s career services teams to create resources and programming so students can thrive in the workforce. Outside of work, Elaine enjoys doing yoga, hiking, and learning how to fish.

Juju grew up in Colorado and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of San Diego. She has built a career in higher education through roles in Denver, Boston, and Anchorage, and now works remotely from Tennessee while supporting the entire University of Alaska system. As the Career Services Specialist, Juju manages all aspects of Handshake, the career management platform used by UAA, UAF, and UAS. She is the primary point of contact for employers with questions about job postings, account setup, event registration, and career fair logistics and payments. Outside of work, Juju enjoys reading, swimming, skiing, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
